After the disruptive era of COVID-19, we’re excited to announce the tenth edition of the International Conference on Tribology in Manufacturing Processes, from June 26th to 28th, 2024.
In the current times, despite the World Health Organization’s declaration of the pandemic’s end, the world continues to navigate through turbulent and demanding circumstances. Industries are striving for heightened competitiveness and the ability to harness the latest advancements in tribology. Therefore, the tenth edition of ICTMP in Alcoy will serve as the prime platform to unveil the recent tribological research breakthrough by diverse groups of global investigators.
The ICTMP2024 conference, in its milestone tenth edition, firmly establishes itself as a global reference in the field of tribology. The inaugural event in Gifu in 1997 feels like a distant memory as we look ahead to this new chapter of progress and collaboration. As we assemble in Alcoy, Spain, researchers from all corners of the world will gather to swap insights, build networks, and steer the course of tribology for the future.
Amid ongoing challenges, this conference proves the resilience of the scientific community and its dedication to pushing boundaries, no matter the odds. Get ready to dive into the tribology frontier, setting the stage for a brighter tomorrow for industries and societies. Join us at ICTMP2024 – where ideas collide and possibilities soar.
We invite you to participate in this event, working together to shape a better future for the world.
Warm regards,
ICTMP 2024 Organizing Committee
Dear colleagues,
As co-chairs of the 10th International Conference on Tribology in Manufacturing Processes (ICTMP2024), we are pleased to welcome all participants and guests to this event. ICTMP2024 offers a unique opportunity to spotlight and share research in tribology and joining from across the globe. It is a global hub for research promotion and knowledge dissemination within these specialized fields.
Hosted by our colleagues at Mechlab, Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, the conference will feature cutting-edge research, keynote speeches, and papers, all at the forefront of Tribology in Manufacturing. Beyond that, it serves as a platform for international researchers to present their latest findings and explore potential collaborations.
We aim to foster strong and growing global connections among researchers, paving the way for future collaborations. We are confident that ICTMP2024 will succeed tremendously. We extend our sincere thanks for your participation and contributions.
Best regards,
Kuniaki Dohda and Steven R. Schmid, Chairs, ICTMP2024
Dear participants and respected colleagues,
As the program chairs, we are pleased to announce the 10th International Conference on Tribology in Manufacturing Processes on behalf of the program committee. We also want to welcome you to Alcoy, in the heart of Spain’s enchanting Costa Blanca, where history and culture intertwine. You will immerse yourself in our rich heritage and relish an authentic Spanish experience in every corner of this city.
The conference will bring together scientists from engineering and industry to discuss significant recent developments in tribology. It represents an opportunity to gather an interdisciplinary community to discuss applied research in manufacturing processes. More specifically, after the success of the first nine editions, this year’s edition will focus on 10 thematic areas of tribology:
It signifies an occasion to gather a community to deliberate on the practical applications of research within manufacturing processes.
Additionally, a student competition is set to spotlight selected contributions from students to give them recognition and engagement. We extend our gratitude to three vital groups. Firstly, the energetic program committee of 2024, whose insightful contributions were instrumental in shaping our robust agenda. Secondly, the IRGTM executive committee, whose unwavering support and trust have been fundamental to the conference’s consistent growth and maturity. Lastly, we thank the contributors who will enrich the conference with their presentations.
But the ICTMP is not just about the presentations – it’s about our connections and friendships, helping us all share and learn better. Use the breaks, the welcome reception, and even those evening hangs on meeting new people and introducing friends to friends. And if you’re into it, join the special interest groups where you can help make things even more remarkable.
Before we conclude, take the time to enjoy Alcoy and the rich offerings of the Valencian region. From museums and ancient towers to modernist and industrial routes, historical shelters, local cuisine, serene natural parks like Font Roja and Mariola, and inviting beaches, the city boasts a diverse blend of culture, tradition, art, and natural beauty.
We are looking forward to your active participation, which we believe will ensure the success of this 10th edition, and we anticipate more exciting conferences in the years ahead.
Warm regards,
Miguel Ángel Sellés Cantó and Samuel Sánchez Caballero, Host Committee Chairs, ICTMP2024
The conference aims to bring together researchers, academicians, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advancements in the field of tribology in manufacturing processes and joining techniques. The focus will be exploring innovative approaches, technologies, and materials related to lubrication, coatings, surface engineering, and friction reduction. The conference will cover fundamental research and practical applications in various industries, promoting collaboration and knowledge dissemination in the field of tribology.
